The Golem Awakens

The paladin of the Earthen Lance walked his steed up the ridge as he made his way towards Aven Vale at the southwest end of the mountains.
Across the ravine, to his left, he heard a strange and faint sound. It appeared to be a chant, menacing. Threatening.
He looked for the owner of the voice.
At last he spotted it! A small, gaunt figure, in ragged robes, gilded about its shoulders; raised its arms in a final call before crumbling to the ground in death.
A moment of silence came as the paladin tried to make sense of what he had just witnessed.
In a sudden jolt, and a rumble of thunder, the ridge across from him heaved as though the earth was breathing. The stoney outcropping on the ridge tilted, nudging apart the earth that surrounded it. Then, with a violent thrust, the rocks lurched up and arose to reveal a skeletal face formed upon the great stone that was below ground. The eyes told of the spiritual forces at work in this titanic being.
As the Golem continued to rise up, the paladin - over his initial shock - tried to gain control of his horse and mount it. This new occurence does not bode well. He must warn the Orders' outposts immediately!
