Pt I. of the Lanthrish Locales. Pt. II "Palinroe" [link] Pt. III "Aleth Hult" [link] This is the abode of the Skye Monarchy. Long ago, the world was cast into darkness, as the heavens were silent. In that time, great trees called the Buinnen died. Over time, the massive trunks turned to stone. During the reign of Emperor Tralysaad VI, ages later, this stone tree was discovered near the Nadas Cluvagge (Cliffs of NadasEl) as the emperor travelled through lanthranolund - his newly claimed province. The emperor had enslaved dwarves from the realm of Noromnak and brought them to Lanthranolund to create a tower for his dwelling in the land. The day came when the Lanthrish rose up under one Ethalen Skye, and overthrew Tralysaad. As a show of gratitude, the dwarves refurbished the tower for the new Lanthrish King. Niches were carved out to hold statues of future kings. The lion of the west and the panstag of the east were made symbols of the country. Ethalen hailed from West Lanthranolund and was thus the First Lion of the West. Comyn Anerroth, the throne city of Lanthranolund grew up around the tower. Over the years, facades and towers were added . Even complex drainage systems and chimney works along with a monstrous horn was mounted at the top which blared through the roaring mouths of brass/bronze lions. Gutters and gargoyles of copper and stone carried water away from the front of the tower to drop down the sides to a canal below, carrying water to systems in the main city. The builings in the foreground are special housings within walls separating the tower from Comyn Anerroth.
You should see the inside!
It's on my list.
I will certainly try to make it epic! I've already started sketches, so stay tuned!
I'm hoping you'll like what you see!
About 8 hours of work went into this. It seems most of my completed works average between 8 & 10 hours.
