In the Garden of Gethsemane

Commissioned: The latest Good Friday work.

This was Christ at His most human - full of anxiety, troubled in mind and apprehensive of the task that He must complete.
He knew that the beating, scourging, flogging and gruesome death that was to come was His alone. But, He still reached out to the Father, God - not to avoid the punishment, not to ask for another way. But, to say "Thy will be done."
Love of the Father, love of mankind and the hope for them was what drove the Son onto death and eventual resurrection. . . .
